Summer 2010

The California Department of Public Health has declared an epidemic of Whooping Cough (Pertussis) in California. Whooping cough is a bacterial infection that causes coughing fits so bad that it is hard to breathe.

In Santa Clara County we have had 111 of cases reported from January 1, 2010 to August 3, 2010. In 2009, our county had a total of 25 cases reported during the whole year.
